The book is divided into four sections: the first one contemplates reading and vocabulary exercises within the topic of People and the Media (Unit 1) and Places and the Natural world (Unit 2); the second part focuses on language use and grammar, specifically pronouns, articles and quantifiers, adjectives, and verb tenses; a third section, aiming to improve writing skills; and a final part, containing a text of literary journalism for extensive reading so that students are introduced to one of the scientific areas of research at ISCSP.

Given the relevance of using authentic materials, different resources were taken and/ or adapted from original sources, which are duly referenced. To promote autonomous study, the book contains an answer key to the exercises.
